- tried to make Athens under Spartan rule
The Revolution:
- Where ordinary people took destiny into their own hands
- they revolted against Isagoras and the Spartans and ostracized them
- the first revolution in history
Cleisthenes:
- didn't give power to the aristocrats
- didn't declare himself as a tyrant
- had to find a way to give the people power
- invented democracy
